FAIR theater FAQ
What is it? Adult theater in Queens near LGA airport. It's a 600 seat 90 year old theater and another connected building.
Where is it? 90-18 Astoria BLVD Queens, Near LGA. Accessible by M-60, Q-19, Q-33, Q-49, Q-49, Q-72 busses via the N Astoria BLVD stop and 7, R, E, F via Jackson Heights/Roosevelt ave. There is usually available street parking up 88th st past the McDonalds.
Who goes there? Mostly men. Women and M/F couples are very rare.
I heard women and transexuals aren't allowed, is this true? Are there women there? I'm a real woman, are they going to let me in?
In the management's efforts to discourage any pay-for-play going on, it looks like they are not admitting people who, in their eyes, fit such a profile. This policy has been going on since early 2024. Although I have seen transexuals, transvestites, and real women inside the FAIR since this began, it's far far less than previously, and I can not guarantee women or female presenting trans would be successful in getting past the box office.
I'm only 18, are they going to let me in? I don't know if the entry age is 18 or 21, but I think you will get in.
What the demographic? Downlow types. Off-the-grid gays. Pervs. It skews older, but it's not all old guys. Not everyone is gay.
What's the vibe like? Festive. Some people are there just to socialize. It's not like a bunch of scary lurkers.
What goes on there? Everything.
So what's the best spot in there? A lot of people like the pitch black room, and it gets packed wall to wall on a Saturday night. Another area is the dark wall room at the back of the straight xxx room, which can also get packed. Some use the straight xxx room itself. Sometimes there is activity at the front row of the main theater. Sometimes something is going on at the back of the balcony. Booths are for privacy. The more public areas like the lobby/lounge are common areas, and not for play.
What kind of movies are shown? 3 screens of porn, straight, gay and trans, and 3 screens of Hollywood movies. Each showing three titles grindhouse style in rotation throughout the day.
What is the cost? 15.00 admission. Online coupons appear to be no longer. Usually there is a deal offered of 7 admission tickets for 49.00
What is the deal with the lockers? Lockers available to store your coat/valuables and are located at the lobby/lounge, ...and it's 8.00 for the key, but you get 7.00 back when you return the key when you leave that day.
Is there free pizza and donuts? Free pizza and donuts are no more, but there is still free coffee and vending machines with snacks and drinks.
What are the hours? Open by 11am every day and closes at midnight Sunday thru Thu. Fri and Sat nights may be open later than midnight.
